At Wackum and Stackum we provide the highest level of training for your retriever to become a finished gun dog. Your pup will become one of our family during his/her stay and will be provided with constant human interaction. Our training includes everything you will need for your retriever to become a non-slip hunting companion in the field. We train specifically to your needs, wants and desires. This will be established with you prior to training and your input will indicate where you wish to have your specific type of waterfowl hunting  emphasis placed (big water hunting, field lay-out hunting, marsh blind hunting). Your retriever will become well versed in all of the basics with handling that comprise a fine finished retriever: casting (hand signals), whistle commands, blind retrieves, land-water-land retrieves, multiple retrieves, heavy cover retrieves, dead birds, shackled birds and lining. The list of your retrievers “in school” accomplishments is long and these are just a few. We specialize in a one on one working relationship with the owner and retriever and encourage the owner’s participation as often as possible. We provide a spreadsheet and time line of your retriever’s introductions, accomplishments and progress. Typically (each retriever progresses at a different pace) a finished gun dog will typically take six to eight months.

Fees

The training cost is $150.00 per week ($600.00 per month). We require the first month in advance and then bill monthly. The monthly fee includes training, boarding, feeding of Purina Pro-Plan, and birds (pigeons & ducks). Not included in the weekly/monthly fee are veterinary expenses. Please contact us for more detailed information and schedule an appointment to see our finished gun dogs work.
